about ‘Beer with Nat’
Beer with Nat is a careers podcast. On every episode, host Natalya Watson shares a beer and a chat with people who do what they love for a living… they work in the beer industry.
From head brewers, to packaging managers, to beer writers, and PRs, they’ve sat down with Nat to share their stories about what got them into beer, what they do for a living, what they love about the industry, and so much more.
As most people end up in this industry by pursuing a passion or chasing a dream, you can bet each guest has some pretty incredible stories to tell.
While most beer podcasts focus on the industry, Natalya likes to say hers focuses on the individual.
Following the philosophy ‘If you can’t, see you can’t be’, Natalya is passionate about shining a spotlight on the incredible women in the beer industry and allowing each to tell her story in her own words.
Beer with Nat was launched in October 2018. Its first season ran from November 2018 – March 2019, with new episodes released bi-weekly. After a short hiatus while Natalya transitioned to her new freelance career as a beer educator, season two launched in June 2019 and new episodes are now being released weekly.
Season one has reached nearly 4,000 downloads, and the shows audience continues to grow.
Natalya Watson hosts, edits, and produces the show.
Natalya Watson is a Beer Sommelier and Certified Cicerone® passionate about sharing her knowledge of beer with others.
Back in August 2018, she had a brainwave on a short flight to Belfast. A big fan of podcasts that interview people about their careers (her two favourites are “Control, Alt, Delete” from Emma Gannon and The Skimm’s “Skimm’d from the Couch“) she thought, “Why don’t I do that for my industry?“
She quickly Googled “how to start a podcast”, found tons of helpful resources online, and started recording her first episodes in September. By October 2018, Beer with Nat was live!
Now into season two (with plans for season three already in the works), Nat feels incredibly proud to have created a platform for women in beer to share their stories in their own words.
